PAÏEN

Païen or Heida in the Valais, Savagnin in the French Jura and Traminer in Alsace and the German Palatinate. ln the past it was confined almost exclusively to the vineyards of the Haut-Valais (Visperterminen), but today it enjoys a place of honour in the French-speaking Valais to the west where its qualities and originality are fully recognised. Its delicious perfume contains notes of walnut and hazelnut. It is fresh and unctuous on the palate, full of vitality and of great persistence. Ready for drinking after two or three years.
